I’ve already posted it but I ask again. I have been admitted to these four schools for business major. But in Minnesota, my major is business that is in CEHD, not Carlson. Many people recommended Penn state but for international students, it is way more expensive than Minnesota. If you were me, what school do you choose?
PS 1. how hard is it to transfer from CEHD to Carlson?
2.there is business major in CEHD, so will this major be equally treated as majors in Carlson?
3. I am considering moving to Communication major within colege years but not sure, then is it effective to choose Minnesota?
Sorry for making PS as long as the main content…
You have to ask the people at U MN - start with the transfer office at Carlson.
You have to ask the people at U MN - start with the career center, they know who gets interviews, and who gets hired.
If you aren't certain about your major, then having it easy to change your majors, affordability, convenience, and social fit are what you should base your choice on.
U MN is a great university, and in a much livelier community than Penn State, U of IA, or Purdue. For your situation, it almost certainly is your best choice.
NO, the business major within CEDH is NOT considered the same as the one in Carlson.
I seem to recall that you need a very high GPA in CEDH to have a shot at Carlson.
You’d also need to “catch up” on some Carlson classes.
I agree that UMN has a great location and if it’s cheaper, all the better but… you’ll need to look into the major - it’s business education and the program isn’t quite what you’d have in Carlson. Is it what you want? https://webapps-prd.oit.umn.edu/pcas/viewCatalogSamplePlan.do?samplePlanId=24226&programID=47&programSeq=19839&campus=UMNTC
Look at the requirements to switch majors at all the schools.
I believe that CHDE is the hardest school to switch out of though.
Were you admitted “DUS” (undeclared) to Penn State or were you admitted to a major?
