Selecting US colleges for an international (based on stats & fin aid)

Hey all, I am a Canadian Senior looking to apply to some US colleges/universities for the 2015 school year. My stats are as follows:
GPA: 3.88 UW (W unknown - our school does not do this)
ACT: 32
ECs / community involvement are alright, looking to improve this year

What schools do you recommend for a prospective-econ or business major (I am leaning towards marketing) which will provide significant merit aid or financial aid for a middle - upper middle class family (115k)? My parents are only looking to contribute about 2k a year, and I have about 7k a year in savings. Thank you very much and good luck in the upcoming app season!!!

bump!

hold on, you’re bumping me after 32 minutes?! this isn’t a vending machine, OP.

In US schools, economics tends not to be in the business school, and that can complicate efforts to do economics in, say, a college of liberal arts and marketing in a business school (both the liberal arts college and the business school being in the same uni or, more rarely, LAC). Don’t know how it is in Canada.

American colleges and unis are very expensive and not particularly friendly (some of them) to international students. Most will offer no or very little aid to internationals. That is to say, it’s tough to get into and pay for them.

Having said that, there are some institutions who do offer FA to internationals. See the urls below:

You have good stats, and there are lots of good econ depts here, but finding the money will be your biggest task.

thanks!! ^^
i realize that econ is often separate from actual business schools but a lot of schools that fit me based on my fin aid situation unfortunately do not have business programs to begin with which is why i listed econ

i have looked at barnard and a few other similar schools and a lot still estimate that i will be paying ~20k based on my parents income. however they (parents) are not willing to contribute much of that, so I think I will have to rely on merit aid

i will apply to alabama and a few other schools where I know i will 100% get good merit aid, but I am still trying to find a school in a more urban area with good merit aid available to international students

any ideas?
