Hey, I was wondering what were some things that influenced undergrad students at Rose to choose this school. I was recently denied admission into FYE at Purdue, but Purdue Polytech is looking like an attractive distraction. Would a degree from the poly tech school even be worth it? I’d appreciate any insight.
Poly tech offers Technology degree. and YES it is worth a lot with guaranteed employment right after graduation.
Technology is NOT engineering though.
What would your ideal majors be, what’s your gpa/act/highest mathclass completed with what grade - so that we can evaluate if you have a shot at engineering ?
We’re you admitted to rose hulman ?
@MYOS1634
The major I applied for within Purdue in Mechanical Engineering Technology, and at Rose I applied for Mechanical Engineering. I have been admitted, I just have to choose.
@Anticommunism employment isn’t the issue, but would their be a difference in salary down the line?
*there
Yes, there’d be a big difference in salary. It’s a bit like the difference between being manager and employee. Engineers can go on to an MBA, whereas in engineering tech you move up to enginering.
In that situation, the choice should be clear : if you’ve been admitted to Engineering at Rose Hulman, one of the best Schools of Engineering in the country, don’t look back provided it’s affordable.
@MYOS1634 thank you, I just thought that if I was accepted into Rose that I’d have a guaranteed yes from Purdue, so that’s been kind of disappointing. I appreciate your response.
