Is completing the selective scholarship application worth it for an out of state student? It seemed like a lot of the programs they listed are either for a specific school (I’m direct admit to Kelley) or require a student to be in state (I’m from the mid atlantic). I also got accepted to Hutton and previously got a 10k per year Dean’s Scholarship if that matters.
My daughter is filling it out (IUPUI, not Bloomington). It’s not a particularly onerous application - why would you leave the chance at free money on the table?
Forgot to write the essay, would need to do it tonight
My D completed it in December. I didn’t think it was overly onerous either. Be aware of the LOR deadlines as well if you don’t already have those lined up. I know the SSA app is due today but the LOR’s I think are due by 1/17 so not much time left for that part.
I’m the exact same boat and am thinking whether or not to write the essay
Well if you didn’t get your application in the SSA seems to be officially closed. I just went to look and there is a message that says the deadline is now past. Up until then I was able to go in and review what we had submitted.
We still have two other invites my D is invited to apply to but the deadline for those are March.
