<p>My son turned 17 the October of his senior year. He said No because he was too young and wasn't 18, but he did it in August when he left for school. I think it said you could be 3 months shy of 18 to register. It's a very quick form online and then they send you a paper confirming it.</p>
<p>We answered "no" because our son wasn't yet 17. Financial aid got hung up as a result, so we corrected it to "yes" (he was still 17) and it went through fine. My suggestion- just check "yes".</p>
