Selective Service

So I need to verify my selective service for UCLA, and I mailed the selective service card about a week ago. Does anyoone know how long it takes for them to process the information? Online it says 30 to 90 days and that seems like a long time. And does anyone know if this can affect the amount of money i get at ucla

Most males have to be registered in order to receive federal student aid. If you have to be verified, it seems it could delay your aid, you will have to ask UCLA. You didn’t register online then? So no receipt or printout that you registered or anything? I am guessing that 30 to 90 days it what it takes then. You should notify UCLA of the date you mailed it.

why not go online and register that way, then take screen shots.

And it won’t be a problem to have done it both ways. Once they get around to trying to enter your data from the card they’ll just see it’s already done. No problem.

Can you do it by updating your FAFSA and choosing the option to register for selective service but not change anything else? (I don’t know if this would have other consequences.)
