Selective Service

I wouldn't worry too much, because since you are enrolled at UCLA, you'll have less of a chance of being drafted in that chance. Stay in school kids!

Wow I can't believe people still believe that crap! Do you think that you can still pay your way out of the draft as well? At best, people in college who get drafted will be allowed to postpone their service appt. until the end of the current semester (quarter for us).

And for those of you suggesting moving to another country, does your citizenship and home mean that little to you? You know, even though a draft is unlikely and I certainly wouldn't want to be drafted, I know that I would certainly go if I was drafted. Honestly, I hope WWIII doesn't break out, because with the attitudes of some people in our generation, we would be screwed. During WWII, Switzerland mobilized the entire country in 3 days, and they were never invaded by Germany, even though they are right next to it. Yet we aren't even able to talk about the possibility of defending our country. I agree with a lot of what older people say about us - we are pansies because we have had everything handed to us, and we don't want to work for or take personal responsibility for anything. Too many people have taken big gulps of the liberal, politically correct kool-aid.

Raimus: Yeah Lusk.

hey sorry guys i'm talking from the perspective of someone who has double citizenship and who've lived in that other country for 10 years so I'm kinda nostaglic cuz I haven't been back for 6 years now.

If you feel you can't really part with US, then mayb canada mayb try other routes I dont really know...

...or maybe you should obey the law and not worry about it. Last time I checked, no one in the US has been drafted in over 30 years.
