Okay so basically I am by nature a vary talkative and slightly obnoxious person. However, starting this year I have become really shy in new situations and it's annoying and kind of upsetting to me. This year I'm taking Art History and I'm the only sophomore in a class of seniors and as a result I never ever talk and I am labeled as weird. Then I joined a new swim team that's really hard and I was really nervous when I started and still I don't have a single friend. I awkwardly stand on the side while other people talk to each other in the locker rooms. I've never had any social problems whatsoever until this year and I'm super confused as to why. This is kind of a vent/I need help thread.

Well it doesnt’ help you are in classes with seniors who know each other well. Just try to spark up some convos. Recently I’ve just been opening up and becoming less shy than I have been for all my years of schooling and just don’t worry about what people will think. Do something that will make people laugh, whether it’s stupid or silly, because laughing is a great way to break the ice an open up the doors to a possible friendship. =]
