Selectivity differences: College of Humanities vs Univ College?

D is applying EA (due 10/15). She’s undecided but if she has to choose something now it would be Communications in the College of Humanities & SS, or Exploratory Studies in University College. Is either easier to get into? I would guess that she’s on the dangerous edge of the numbers cusp. 3.8 u/w, 4.6 w, 1210 SAT

Or is it all the same except Engineering and Design?

Thank you!

I have a son that went through exploratory studies a couple years ago. Found out after the fact it was right behind engineering and design from a competitive standpoint. I guess its just a numbers game - lots of kids wanted to be in the program and there is only so much space. YMMV

Good to know, thanks.

@DecideSomeHow - did he have a good experience? Did it help him find a path?

It was good for him. He was able to dial in what to study. Making a minor change to degree program this semester, fall of junior year, but it won’t delay graduation. So yes, based his outcome, I would say the program is good at getting the kids on a good path.
