Temple is my first choice and I got admitted. My counselor told me though that she thought it was a very selective school and there might not have been a chance that i would've gotten in. How selective is it? i didn't think it would be that selective...

my stats
ACT 27
GPA weighted 3.9

honestly...it is not very selective at all...its actually relatively easy to get into. I got accepted also. However, with that said, IMO, I think Temple is one of the best "non-selective" schools out there

D applied to Temple, she's still waiting on their decision. Our biggest concern with Temple is campus house after freshman year. It's very expensive and and the neighborhood isn't that great.

I went to Temple 15 years ago and back then it wasnt hard to get in. They took people with very low SAT scores..Now its gotten a bit more selective but still it isnt hard to get in there...I wouldnt live in North Philly if you paid me though...The neighborhood is a craphole..Campus is nice but walk a couple blocks off campus and its like a warzone...Then again most of Philly has become criime ridden which is why after 37 years I was forced to move...Temple though is a very good school

The options for student housing have expanded greatly over the last several years. In addition, Philly is very easy to navigate and lots of students rent apts or even houses in the Fairmount/Art museum neighborhoods, south Philly and west Philly and get to Temple easily by subway.
If they are so inclined, look into applying as an RA to extend housing into upperclass years.
