Self-Addressed Postcard

i've heard from numerous sources that it is a good idea to include a self-addressed postcard with recommendation letters because then we'll know when the colleges receive the rec letter. should i include two for each college (one for me, one for the teacher)? also, if i put a message like "X College has received your letter of recommendation," should i leave the college name/address blank for the admission office to fill out or should i pre-fill it?

1) I don’t think there’s any need to send the postcard to the teacher.
2) You fill in everything. All you are asking the office to do is date-stamp it and drop it in the mail. If you ask them to fill something out, they won’t. Of course, this means that you must be very careful to put the correct postcard in the correct envelope!

I agree, just be careful, too many stories of wrong university being listed on materials at the wrong school.
