self designed majors

im crossing my fingers and toes that i get into minnesota (carlson) next fall. im not sure as to what my major will be but i was looking around at the self designed management major they had. if i could end up exactly where i wanted, i would be a product manager in the future. most of these jobs prefer engineering degrees or marketing degrees, but i was thinking about possibly integrating some electrical engineering classes with some marketing classes to make my "self designed product management degree". do you guys think that employers would look at this positively, or see it as not having enough expertise in a certain area?

bump...anyone know about majors like this?

With the exception of a MBA, management degrees aren't that great. Management is something you learn out in the real world. I think it's usually better to stick with majors that employers have experience with.

If you go into engineering you won't have a problem finding work.

ya..i wish i had the self discipline to go into engineering. i am good at math but i absolutely hate it and i would be completely miserable.
