self-explanatory

So I did the majority of the top schools in the country. I was rejected :frowning: from Stanford EA and waitlisted at Chicago on Friday. I’ve been accepted to UCI, UCSB, UCSD, and UC Davis with honors at a couple. Anyways if you could chance me for Duke, UCB, UCLA, Swarthmore, Middlebury, Amherst, Williams, Bowdoin, Brown, Dartmouth, U Penn (I butchered this interview), Georgetown, USC, and Rice. I applied to HYP but after my decisions thus far I’m not holding out a lot of hope.

Extracurriculars

Mock Trial (10-12)-First chair and closing attorney, swept individual awards at county competition but my team lost so I couldn’t do much else
Robotics (11-12)-Team is top 20 in CA, I’m captain of strategy, Public Relations Coordinator, and the only senior on the student leadership team
Science Olympiad (9-10)-placed third in the state freshman year and 5th sophomore year in individual events
Soccer-Nationally ranked travel teams throughout high school, freshman team top scorer, varsity

Job/Work Experience:
Soccer Referee-Been promoted every year and now ref at the highest possible level given my certification
Worked at a gym over the Summer between my Sophomore and Junior year in exchange for access to the gym so I could train to make this elite travel team that I’d been cut from three consecutive years. I made the travel team in September

Volunteer/Community service:
Key Club Service Coordinator for ten schools about 100 hours.
Children’s Hospital-150 hours, wrote my Common App Essay about how one of the patients I knew and had developed a close relationship with died.
School’s special ed department-75 hours

Summer Activities: Just stuff mentioned above
Essays:
Common App-8/9 talked about experiencing the death of someone I cared about for the first time and how it put my life and goals into perspective
Supplementals-10 Most of them focused on an indoor soccer tournament I started to unite my community through a sport that I loved. I think it perfectly described me and who I aspire to be.

Teacher Recommendation 1: english teacher kinda generic but said I was intellectually ambitious and funny-6ish
Teacher Recommendation 2: AP Econ teacher my counselor said it was the best letter she’d ever read-10
Counselor Rec: Didn’t read, either really good or really generic cause she had like 125 to fill out but she’s told me I’m her fav student
Additional Rec: Volunteer coordinator at Children’s Hospital-talked about how I became even more committed to the hospital after the patient I was friends with died and how she was impressed with my maturity and compassion-8/9
Interviews: In general they went very well, Chicago was hands-down the best interview of my life (my interviewer is calling the admissions office to try to get me off the waitlist and offered to write additional letters as well, Penn one was absolute crap, I was tired and gave some horrible responses that made me seem like I was full of BS when I was really just nervous
