Hi, I understand Apex isn't on a self paced basis so you can't finish early or later than normal and have to go by their schedule. Are there any other good services like Apex that are professional and respected that allow you to go on your own speed?Whether its faster or slower.

flvs lets you go ahead of pace, and slightly below pace if you have a good reason.

Apex is sort of self-paced... you can do the work early, but you can't do it later. There are 'due' dates for you to complete each lesson and it's corresponding quiz, and if you don't complete it by then it's up to your teacher to decide if she/he wants to accept it or not.
So you could register for your course early, do a lot of work in a short period of time (say a week's worth in two days) and from then on work on and off according to 'how you feel'. When I did some courses with Apex, I almost always did it the day it was due, unless I had something else that would interfere, and in that scenario I would have done it in advance. Oh and if you live on the East Coast (like me), you could do it even a couple of hours after it was due because Apex is in Washington State and their due dates are 12:00 AM PST. :P

Thanks for the replys. So if I'm ahead on all the assignments and stuff and I finish everything including the last assignment early, do I get the course officially as something I did or do I have to wait for the end of the semester to put it on my transcript.

bumppppppp

How much does something like Apex cost?

I emailed them about the A.P classes and its $350 for each semester.

Anybody have an answer to my question?? Whether you can finish it as early as you want and get the class added to your transcript?

BUMP.

Current question.

So does anyone know if you can finish Apex classes as fast as you want? What are some other good distance learning services that let you go as fast as you can handle?

You can finish Apex early but you won't get a final grade until after the semester is over.
You can finish as early as you want, but if you have a teacher-graded assignment they'll probably do your assignment after the due date. It's like when you hand in a test early in real life--you don't expect your teacher to grade and give you back your grade until everybody's finished.... sorry for the not clarifying enough.
