I recently submitted an application to a highly selective college and only chose to self report my ACT test score. I have also taken AP Exams and done well on them in the past, but I didn’t self report them because I thought AP exams were irrelevant to admissions. I am worried though because now I am seeing people post that AP exam scores can help you during the admissions process and I feel like I should’ve self reported my scores. I’ve already emailed admissions quite a lot in the past with questions and I feel like I’d be bothering them if I emailed them again, but is this worth contacting them to tell them my AP Exam scores?
If you have good scores, it’s to your advantage to report them. You want to give schools reasons to accept you. Show them that you did well.
If they see that you took many AP classes, but didn’t report any scores, they might wonder why.
Usually AP scores are not used in the admissions process. Once admitted, you then send in your scores in the summer in order to receive credit or to help with scheduling the proper level classes.
