self report grade mistake

I submitted my application to universities back in November and you had to self report your grades for the California Universities and was looking over my application because decisions came out.

SO. I accidentally gave myself a B for a class I actually had a A in which was completely on accident. I got into UCSC, Irvine, and SB, and Berkeley early which I’m probably going to. Am I supposed to email the school right now or will admissions just use my final transcript.

Thanks everyone.

You should email Berkeley to let them know. However, you obviously have nothing to worry about since you actually did better than you reported. Had it been the other way around, you could have been in trouble, but as it stands, this is just an administrative step.

Did you submit your transcript with the application already? Anyway, it would not hurt to send them an email to correct that although it may be not necessary.

I haven’t submitted the transcript yet. And I just got into UCLA today. Oh no! Am I supposed to email the docs support email or each school?

@billcsho @Alexandre ^^

BUMP: does anyone know which email I am supposed to use? And does it look really bad that I’m emailing now after all the decisions came out? Anxious!

Here is the UC email: Update your application.

If there are changes to your academic record…

Freshmen: If you change schools, add or drop a course, or fail to earn a C or better in a course after you submit your application, you must notify the UC Application Center by email or postal mail. Your correspondence must include your name, UC Application ID number and your signature (if you mail a letter), and will be available to all the campuses to which you applied.

If you receive an offer of admission, be sure to confirm with the campus admission office that they are aware of the deficient grade or schedule changes. Although you must notify the campus of these changes, we cannot guarantee that a campus can go back to review an application after correspondence has been received. Make sure to save a copy of your correspondence just in case.

Since you will be making a decision soon on which school you will be enrolling, I would also send an email directly to admissions at that particular school.

@Gumbymom thank you! Do you think there is a chance I would get my acceptances rescinded for this mistake though? I’m nervous to see response ahhh

I do not think you should worry especially since the real grade is higher. As long as the school(s) are aware of the discrepancy, everything should be fine.
