For the USC application there's a section under the writing supplement where you can self-report your classes and grades. It's optional though, so is it worth doing (especially if we're going to be sending in our transcripts already)?

You can go ahead and do it, they will verify anyway as they will recalculate your GPA regardless.

I thought it was mandatory…I wasted like a good 30 minutes filling that out last year =(

So we don’t have to self report grades? When do we send transcripts?

If they are asking then put it on the application, the 30 minutes is worth it. Leaving it blank either makes you look lazy or unable to follow instructions, neither a good sign. Your HS should send them (unless they don’t do it for you) after first semester grades are reported, then again after final grades post, which at that point you know if you are in or not.

The self-reporting form has each class broken up into 3 semesters, but my school only has quarter grades and final grades. How should I list my grades? Also, am I correct to omit pluses and minuses in the reporting? Thanks
