Hi all, I have a question about self reporting sat scores in the common app (for reference, I’m applying to Columbia, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, UChicago, Stanford, and MIT). My understanding is that all of these institutions, except MIT and Princeton, allow students to “self report” SAT scores in the common app. This means I don’t need to send official score reports from the College Boards website unless I’m admitted, correct? I apologize for such a trivial question, but it’s rare for people to write SATs where I am, so there isn’t a lot of guidance on them.
Yes, for colleges that allow self-reporting of test scores in the application, you do not have to submit official scores from the testing agency until after you have accepted admission.
Thanks so much for confirming this! I was getting a little nervous thinking I needed to send in official scores.
Unless money is an issue, why would you be nervous?. If the score dates you self report don’t match up with what you send the school will simply rescind your admission
Because I’d rather they just see the best scores from each section. Saving money is just a nice little bonus.
