SELF-REPORT TEST SCORES

I took the IB. So by self-reporting, does it mean that I do not have to request an official transcript to be sent by the IBO? Does it mean that I can just send a certified copy of the result to my colleges?

I only have experience with SAT scores, so I’m kind of guessing here; you’ll probably want to contact the admissions offices directly, BUT most schools do want to see official transcripts/records/reports of your scores. Some will waive that requirement if the scores are included on your high school transcript, though.

If you mean IB scores, I believe the policy would be similar to that of AP scores (though I could be wrong). For AP scores, you only request an official score report to be sent after you enroll at a college; for admissions purposes, applications usually ask students to self-report their AP scores.

Most schools will want your official high school transcript when you complete your application. Any school using the Common App requires it (usually, your guidance counselor provides the transcript through the School Report). Others such as the UC schools ask that you only send official transcripts after you decide to enroll at one of their colleges.
