<p>If AP scores are self-reported on college applications, isn't it theoretically possible for someone who took the exam and got a 3 to write down on his app that he got a 4 or 5? Do colleges have any way of validating all your scores?</p>

<p>Before they give any credit, colleges will want the official scores. If they differ from those on the application, an acceptance based on the app scores may be withdrawn, and the potential student may be saying “do you want fries with that?” instead of “here is my term paper.”</p>
