My school gives us grades every quarter and semester, but on my UC application I just reported the final grades I got in each course. Is this going to have any effect on my application? I feel like it’s too late to email the university and ask to update it… what should I do?
They only want your final grades.
On the application it should let you choose between quarters, trimesters, or semesters. If you choose your option and it only has 1 slot, they just want final grades… otherwise, they want the final grades at the end of each term.
You report what is exactly listed on your transcript be it quarterly, semester or yearly grades. If you did not report your grades properly, you need to notify the UC’s immediately.
Let them know now that you misreported. You have to report all term grades whether it be quarterly, trimesters, semesters, or yearly. “Final grades” are only if you get grades once per year. Otherwise you get grades for each time block. This is grounds to rescind if you have been admitted; especially if the grades you listed are higher than your term grades. The sooner you report the more you minimize potential fall out.
My kids get quarter grades. Those are not on their transcript and do not get self reported on the UC app. Only final semester grades go onto the transcript and are reported to the UCs.
I guess a more accurate rephrase of what I said is your reported grades should match your HS transcript.
Thank you so much. I contacted admissions and heard back pretty quickly. They asked what courses I misreported and I asked them if I should provide the term grades I got in each course. They said they would contact me if any further clarification is required, so I don’t think the issue is fixed.
Thank you. I emailed admissions a week ago and explained my situation and asked if they wanted my S1 and S2 grades or if a final year grade was acceptable. They just said they would contact me if any clarification on my grades is needed. They never got back to me so I’m assuming I’m all set? I hope that if I’m admitted this won’t be an issue, seeing as I contacted admissions about it before decisions were released…
