Self Reporting Grades Question...

On the UW application it asks for my cumulative unweighted gpa, on my official transcript my school only provides my cumulative weighted gpa. Should I notify UW admissions of this or should I report the gpa my school has given me?

Just ask your counselor what your UW is.

Ask your guidance counselor or calculate it yourself.

I have a question about grade reporting too. It asks for a single grade in a class room in a year. What if you got a B+ first semester and B- second semester, for example? If I got those 2 grades in a class, I wouldn’t be able to put it in the space provided? Helppp

You put your final grade in that class.

Yeah that’s the problem. Since there are two semesters in 1 school year, there are technically 2 “final” grades for each class, one from first semester and one from second semester.

Should I just put the higher of the two grades or what?

Hold up, are you referring to block scheduling? And you happened to have one course that lasted over two semesters? In that case the second grade would be your final grade. If you’re saying your school just splits the year in half, then there is usually a grade for the first semester, a grade for the second semester, and then the final grade which is an average of the two plus a final exam grade.

But really, if you have any doubts don’t be afraid to call admissions. They know better than I do =)

“and then the final grade which is an average of the two plus a final exam grade.”

And how do you go about averaging for example… a B+ and B? Oh yeah that’s right, you can’t lol.

You’re really lucky that there are only letters on your transcript. That way, you could have made an 80.1 and as far as they’re concerned it could have been an 89.9 because there is no number.
