I think I have heard that sometimes you can self-report your SAT scores to colleges and you don’t have to send them the official score report until they admit you. Is there some substance in this? Can somebody shed light on it please? Also, if it is true, then how can I find a list of those colleges? And does it affect your admissions process in an adverse manner?
I think it would be easier for you to make your list of colleges you plan to apply to and then check just those testing requirements.
That is true of the UCs/CSUs. I don’t know of that being the case at any other school.
Why do you want to do this?
Do you not want to take the SAT?
There are test optional schools. You can google those
Do you want to take the SAT again or you haven’t taken it yet?
I didn’t know that the UCs had self-reporting for test scores; I thought that was simply for the academic transcript. We certainly sent my son’s ACT and SAT scores to them. You do understand that they will immediately rescind your acceptance if your self-reported information is inaccurate? Given that, why are you asking?
Self reporting AP scores. Then, if admitted and looking for credit, get the official report sent.
Most will want to see your SAT/ACT scores prior to admitting you. The exception is the test-optional schools.
CSU: “While SAT/ACT test scores are not required to establish the admission eligibility of California residents with high school GPAs of 3.00 or above (nonresidents 3.61 or above), impacted campuses and impacted first-time freshmen enrollment categories often include test scores among the supplemental criteria required of all applicants to those campuses and enrollment categories.”
NOT true for UCs…
From UC website:
And I second the question, why are you looking for such schools? Even if they existed, you still can’t lie, so it doesn’t really make a difference (except perhaps saving a few bucks that you have to spend to send them). If you don’t want your test scores included you need to look for test optional schools.
Thanks you guys for replying!
@bopper @ClaremontMom @woogzmama I didn’t want to misrepresent my scores; Actually i wanted to do this because college board charges you money to send score reports to colleges (4 score reports are free); i’m not that sound financially (i’m an international student and cb doesn’t offer sat fee waivers to international students). About SAT, I took it in oct this year. I guess i’ll have to send the official score report to colleges.
A few colleges let you send screenshots of your SATs, but most require the official score reports.
