Self Reporting Scores, Help Please!!

I'm going to have taken a total of 16 AP tests by the end of senior year, but the common app only has space for ten. So far I've taken ten, so do I just self report those and leave out the six I'm planning to take? And if my scores are mostly 4s and 5s, how much will reporting one 2 hurt me....?

And if I'm self reporting, do I have to report ALL of my scores, including SATs? Because I was planning on only reporting my highest ACT score and leaving it at that... I really don't want to report my crappy SAT scores.

Where do you report AP tests?

Under the testing tab, you indicate that you have or are planning to take AP subject tests and then you report them

I’m just not self-reporting anything in hopes to avoid all this madness lol

Does that look bad though? I mean don’t the schools get your scores through official reports anyway? Why do we even have to self report them. Plus all my AP scores are on my official transcript.

xxclouds many college no longer accept AP scores or SAT/ACT scores off official transcripts. They must come directly from testing agency

So do I just not self report? Does that look bad? The whole reason I took the ACT was so I didn’t have to submit my SAT scores…

If you dont send the tests you dont want to show in the official reports and dont self-report they wont know the difference. But if you select to have a test sent on an official report but dont self-report it may look bad.

Without being the admissions counselor I think its hard to know what they will think of it, they may not even look at the self-reported scores.

If the schools you’re applying to don’t require that you send all SAT/ACT scores, and you won’t be, then just self-report the scores you’re going to send. Or don’t self-report any ACT/SAT. I don’t think many admission counselors will care either way, as most require official reports anyway.

As for AP scores, the 6 you plan to take will be evident from your course list and, later, transcripts. Ultimately, AP scores are really only helpful for evaluating the rigor of your classwork in relation to the exam. My opinion is that if you report one score, report them all (though if you self-studied and did poorly, I’d omit it because colleges won’t know until they accept you and you send them your scores, in which case it won’t affect you).

Ok, I was planning on only self reporting my ACT score because the schools I’m applying to don’t require all test scores. But when I select self report on the common app it tells me to submit ALL test dates and scores. So I can’t pick and choose…or at least I don’t think I can? So can I just choose to not self report since they’re getting my scores from the official reports anyway?

You haven’t taken those 6 AP’s yet so they should go under the tab where you list your current courses
