Self-Reporting Test Scores

For self-reporting test scores on the Common App, is it okay if we only indicate the scores that we’re sending to all colleges? I have two ACTs & one SAT. At most schools, I’m only sending in the second ACT, but Yale requires both ACTs & Stanford requires everything. I’m under the impression that I can just self-report the second ACT, my AP scores & subject tests on the Common App and then send in the official reports with my earlier scores to those two schools. Is this the correct procedure to follow for my situation? Thank you!

If you are only sending a test to some schools, then you can certainly do exactly as described. Schools will go off the official test report- you don’t even have to self report if you don’t want to.

Another option is to change the common app for each school, which is possible, albeit a bit of a pain.

The common app does not require you to answer the test score question with any scores, much less more than one. And colleges that requiire all scores do not require all of them to be listed on common app; they just require receiving them at some point before admission decisons are made. However, be aware that in the past both Stanford and Yale have mentioned that if you list all your ACT socres on the application, you need send only the one official score report that you want used to determine admission, i.e., though they require all scores, they recognize that ACT sends only one test per order, and thus they allow you to save monrey by sending only one official ACT if you list all your scores in the application.

Agreed.

And opens up the possibility of mistakes being made, i.e. the wrong version being sent to a college. While it is an option, it’s not one I recommend.
