Self-Studied APs effect on GPA?

If I self-studied for two AP exams, would it affect a university-calculuated GPA? I'm more specifically curious about how the UC system will view and account for self-studied APs.

From what I know, self-studied classes have no affect on the GPA because you don’t actually take the class… There is no loss; just benefits, and the benefits being you get another AP test on your AP exam record without needing to forfeit room in your schedule to take the class.

Unless your school puts the class on your transcript, self-studying will not affect your GPA. I asked about this, and my school said that it was technically illegal to give me AP credit on my transcript for self-studying, even if under the “guidance” of a teacher. Around here, it can only go on the transcript as a research credit, which is unweighted and therefore contrary to the desired goal.

Yeah I don’t think your gpa gets affected at all
