Self Study A.P. European History

Hey, so this is my first thread, and I just wanted to know how hard it is to Self Study for the A.P. Euro test and get a 5. What books should i get? I am currently a junior taking 3 AP’s but I think i can self study for another. I took regular world history at my school last year as a sophomore. I did not take A.P. World History, which I want to make up for by taking the AP Euro AP test. Any advice or suggestions would great!

You’ll be great! It’s an amazing course, and my class last year was so bad that I basically self studied.

Make sure you get the following:
Modern European History + Princeton + Crash Course = a definite 5.

dude don’t worry about Euro its an easy test. i got a 5 on it last year in my junior year and i never listened to the teacher( he was a football coach and we live in Texas). Buy 5 Steps and a pack of flashcards and you’ll get the 5 no problem. if you can’t get 5 steps get princeton review its pretty good too.

Euro used to be a really hard exam, but i’ve heard they’ve made it a lot easier in recent years. The breadth of knowledge can be intimidating.

I’ll be honest. The AP European History Exam is hell. It would be better to actually take the course so that you’ll learn the material better, but since you chose to self study, I highly recommend the REA for AP European History and the REA Crash Course for AP European History. You should start studying from the big REA book about 2-3 months before the test and like maybe 3 weeks before the exam just freshen up on your history with the crash course. I took the test last year and although it was difficult, I passed thanks to these two books. Good Luck!

AP Euro was a wonderful course at my school. I don’t I’ve ever learned more. I got a 5 on the exam.

All you need is one good review book (and preferably a textbook). I had the Princeton Review book (which I didn’t even use all of…). But the textbook “A History of Western Civilization” is awesome. Seriously. If you are looking to self-study I would recommend buying or renting it. It is written, in my opinion, in a very engaging way and gives you all the information and more that you need for the exam.

Good luck!
