I understand APES and statistics are considered easy to be self-studied, but I'm looking for more options. I'm looking more in any department really, math/science/history (not really English) and I have the whole summer to study basically. I'm going to be a senior, already took stat/chem/US/psych. I'm basically doing this for college credit, so I'm wondering how I should approach this. Should I try to figure out where I'm going and look at the curriculum and see what I need and match up what I want to learn? Are curriculums even posted on college websites for me to look at? Basically I want college credit and I want to be exposed to the material, not necessarily major in it though. I'm taking physics/calc/compsci already next year. I know bio would be difficult to self-study because it contains an enormous amount of information, but if anyone has self-studied it before please post your opinion. Maybe APES? What kind of textbooks do you guys suggest? I just want opinions on people who have self-studied, and information on HOW I should go about doing this.

Thanks

well i think i'm going to take a shot at self studying bio, i've heard many mixed opinions on it and i feel i'm not that bad at memorizing. i took psych and its not that bad, but i feel that bio may be like that-just memorization.

enviro. is a piece of cake. get smartypants review book and youll do fine. barrons also wasn't that bad, but sometimes it has useless info.

i would recommend you to study macro or micro economics. ive heard that, psych, enviro, and stats are the easiest to self study. it doesnt seem that bad either...might take it junior or senior year. :)

You can look on the websites of the colleges you are going to apply to and they will tell you what credit they give for which scores on which AP tests. I would start there. You can search on "AP credit" when you get to the college website.

thanks both of you, will do... yeah I really want bio but I don't think I can handle AP bio and AP physics BC (with 3 other APs also)

i was just looking at what bio includes and it really is a lot of work, and it has some chemistry in it which i absolutely hate...lol....so i dont know if youre up for that either.

3 other aps and physics may be difficult. but if you really want to study it, youll be able to do it. :)
