My school doesnt offer APs, so im going to self-study the bio AP. can i expect to reach a 5 if i just use the Mcgraw-Hill 5 steps for a 5 guide? or is this really meant to be used just as review, and not to teach you the actual material?

To tell you the truth, AP bio is ALOT of work. You will need lots of visual content to understand the functions and concepts of Biology. If your willing to self-study, you better really understand the 12 labs you have to prepare for May. Its 10% in the m/c and 1 in FR. I suggest to include cliffnotes and barrons for tough studies. good Luck!

Cliffnotes definitely help but yeah you gotta have ideas of how the labs are done......

in my case, my teacher didn't cover the lab that was on the test so I was basically screwed for that section of the essay. The only thing I did was glance over that particular lab on a website the day before the test.

Definitely stick with Cliffs. I would also use a textbook if you're actually gonna read it.
