Self Study AP Computer Science?

Is it possible? Is it easy? My dad is a computer programmer, so he should be able to help me.

Yes; depends on the level of your skill; yeah your dad would help a lot.

if programming and math is your hooby and you spend a lot of time on the computer, you will likely pull off a 5..
your dad can only help you if he knows Java, which the test is based on..

Pretty sure he knows Java. I've never programmed anything before in my life though.

Even if he doesnt know java, pro programmers can understand other languages. Java is not that hard to understand if you (your dad) knows the basics of object oriented programming. The test was a joke, and there is only like 1 open response, and 3/4 mc on the fish case study. You dont really need to even look at it.

It isn't too hard to self study. I didn't have programming experience last year and still got a 5 on the exam. Yeah and what the poster above said, a lot of the questions are about the Marine Biology Case Study (which is pretty easy to understand).

Just grab a PR or Barrons prep book and go through that...play around with Java. (I used JCreator to do my programming) have fun
