Self Study AP Lit

Hey guys, I can't fit AP lit into my schedule this next year, but I want the credit so I am going to be self studying.... I was wondering how many books and what books you guys think I should read to properly prepare for the test. I have a few review books for practice tests.

Also, the poetry sections, I have seen on several AP lit sites that they do a study of poetry....how should I go about this?

any and all advice is appreciated thanks!

If it helps, i used nothing I learned in my ap lit class on the test, and i got a 4.

Just make sure you’ve read some Shakespeare, and a few other literary classics. If you are a good enough writer, you can bend the promos to fit almost any books.

And for the poetry analysis on the tests, just make sure you know forms of sonnets, and be able to identify literary features.

90% of what I used on the test I learned in 8th or 9th grade.

You’ll do great :)

Have you considered taking AP English Lang? Most colleges grant the same credit to both. AP Lang require no prep if your English abilities are above par.
