Self Study AP Senior Year (Canadian)?

Hi,

I'm a senior this year, and I am looking to strengthen my application. I have not yet taken an AP course, and none are offered at my school. I am wondering whether self studying the Macro (or possibly micro) economics AP course in my senior year would add any strength to my application. I am taking general economics in my senior year at high school, but i am wondering if AP would add any additional merit.

Also is there a point to self studying an AP in senior year, seeing as there would be no way to verify it for the college application?

Any advice is very much appreciated.

It probably wouldn’t add much to your application, for the reason you stated.

ok, thanks for the advice

I tend to agree that the impact would be minimal for college entrance unless you can take the exams and receive the scores before you apply to college.

The value might be receiving college credit (if granted) by the college) of some courses. On another note if you are driven it is possible to self-study AP courses … My son self-studied for 4 AP courses (2 in his junior year and 2 in his senior year … Good luck.
