I barely passed Spanish I and II with a C, but the requirements to get into Spanish IV was a B and AP Spanish class was an A.

I got a C in Spanish III, so I couldn't take either class.

I know this looks very bad, and I thought that the colleges would really like it if I took the AP Spanish test from self studying and did well on it. My parents are pressuring me to do this.

Truth is, I really suck at Spanish and I don't enjoy it at all. Should I even bother trying self studying this subject?

Clearly, you can’t speak Spanish at the level of your classes. If you want to learn Spanish. I say give it a try to self-study because in the end you’ll gain knowledge of a language even if you don’t pass. If you don’t enjoy Spnish in the first place, there’s no need to forc yourself to self study.

The purpose of learning a language is so that you could use it for the rest of your life, not limit it to just credits. If you have great interest to speak with natives or have it as a skill, I suggest that you study it.

Know that to pass the exam, you need to know the language by heart. Many people get 3 and 4 because they studied the bare bones of the language without putting it in practice.

I take AP Spanish, and I know that academic work alone won’t do much for me. I try speaking with Spanish students. Also, for motivation, I read the blog “Fluent in 3 months.”

Don’t take it, if you don’t like something don’t do it
The time it takes to learn spanish ESPECIALLY since you clearly haven’t mastered the first 3 years will be horrible plus the curve is much in favor of natives.
not worth it
