Hey everyone, so this is my first time posting something but I've been here multiple times. So, my schedule for next year, 10th grade, is:
AH English 2
AH Chemistry
AH Algebra 2
AH Geometry
APUSH
Spanish 2 H
Personal Finance H/Economics H
I want to take HL Math 11th grade year but my counselor said I need to have completed Stats or successfully pass the exam for it if I want to take it. Should I study it myself and take the exam or do I need Algebra 2 to take it?

You can self study Stat, it has nothing to do with Algebra. Stats is a completely different type of math.

So it isn’t too much to do three maths at once?

Oh, I didn’t see you were already doubling up on math. Would it be possible for you to take geometry over the summer? I’d be more worried about the alg 2/geometry combo than and ap stat. Although these courses don’t overlap, I don’t think it’s a good idea to do both at once.

It’s too late to sign up for summer classes here and my parents don’t want to do the online thing so I’m kinda stuck with alg 2 and geometry.

Statistics is not usually a subject to be self studied. The fact is that you CAN do it, but it will not be easy. You really need a good teacher to get that “extra point” on the exam (what got me a 5). But I don’t know what your strong suit is and all that. I’m sure you could learn the material, but it’s good to have a teacher there to guide you for statistics. Maybe see if one of the math teachers at your school is willing to help you through the process! Just don’t let me discourage you- if you are an exceptionally strong math student, I would go ahead and look through the material yourself! Take a couple practice tests and see where you are. That way you’ll know by the end if you’re fit to take the exam.
