Hey guys,
I have had a rather problematic junior year. Right now I'm not taking any AP sciences, and am just in honors chem and anatomy (did take ap bio last year though). I want to be a bio major in college, so sciences are important for me. I actually kind of wanted to take apes this year (the subject material seems really cool), but very stupidly did not. I was thinking of self-studying it now, but if I take it in the class next year I could get a GPA bump. So, do you think I should self-study for the exam this year, or just wait and take it next year in the class? I'm only taking three ap's right now, so it probably would not be too hard to fit in. But I'm just unsure about the whole gpa thing, I mean every bit counts right? And colleges don't look at ap scores, so they wouldn't even know (my main reason for wanting to take it is to learn more about ecology/environment, of course, but I also gotta consider what colleges would like ya know...)
Help? What would you do in my situation? Thanks for reading

I would wait until next year to take it! AP classes, especially sciences, are much easier to learn in a classroom setting (in my opinion), and the GPA bump is a plus. Though I heard APES is pretty easy, the test scores aren’t as high as one would expect, so I’m sure getting as much help as possible in a physical classroom will be more beneficial to you when it comes to the AP exam. 3 APs are enough for one school year, but if you really don’t want to wait and think you can take on another one, I’m sure it would be manageable! Good luck. :)
