Self-Study APs

I asked my counselor if I could do this and she said the school could not order the exam if the school did not offer it. This is untrue right? Everything is the same for self-studying (cost-wise) also, right?

Thanks in advance.

I can’t speak in general, but I have signed up to take several tests that my school does not offer classes for (it took a bit of persistence, however). I had a look at some information I could find online:

[AP Exam Ordering - AP Ordering Online](Ordering Exam Materials – AP Central | College Board)
http://professionals.collegeboard.com/profdownload/AP_Coordinators_Manual_2011-12_WEB_rev.pdf

Neither makes reference to any sort of restrictions.

For me, the price for extra exams was the same.

Good luck on getting your tests sorted out.

Your counselor is wrong. The school can order any exam they wish.
