I think I’ll be doing the same, would appreciate some insight from people that have done this!

Also, if these 4-5 months is too much time.

What other subjects should I self study for?

hey, i self-studied the bio exam this year. Although the test is changing this year, I still think 1-2 hrs a day until the test (or even 4-5 months) is overkill. You could definitely study for some other AP’s like APES which would complement bio. If you really want to challenge yourself then you could self-study AP Chem with Bio. Chem is significantly harder than Bio imo but studying two sciences may work to your favor. If you want a 5 for chem, it’s best to start now and do 1-2 hrs for that over bio… But back to bio. The new test from what I heard is supposedly less rote memorization and more conceptual. I think if actually do dedicate 1-2 hrs per day you will prob. get a 5. I actually read the AP Campbell’s book but that partly stemmed from an interest in the subject. If you want a 5, you don’t need campbell (it has a lot of superfluous material). The book you need to do well is Cliff’s. Cliff’s has been reputably the best for AP Bio in the past; however since the exam is changing this year i can not say whether that still holds true. Cliff’s seems to contain all the info and explains everything pretty well. If you actually do spend 1-2 hrs a day studying cliff’s you could easily knock out cliffs with extremely thorough comprehension in like less than a month. But I suggest that if you are truly willing to spend 1-2 hrs on bio then you might as well get Campbell’s and try to read and understand a chapter a day or something. For the AP test, you don’t have to scrutinize everything in campbell’s so you probably could finish campbell within 3-4 months depending on your speed and then after that you will still have time to get prep books. But if you start now you can definitely get a 5. I started in like December and I was fine. Good Luck!

I already bought campbell 8th edition and I am currently reading it (chapter 2-3ish so far)
But I only started a few days ago and I also have a barons AP Biology book from my cousin which he bought last year so the material in that book might be good review.

Oh and for APES I need a list of books to read

When are the new AP Biology prep books coming out?

^ turns out I have about 9 months total to study stuff lol
