Is this realistic? I'm interested in economics and have done a bit of reading about it. I'm average at math, though; does Microeconomics require a lot of this? What are the best textbook/study books for it?

Any advice from someone who self-studied or has taken the class?

Whoa what a coincidence john.....I love economics and they only offered macro at my school so I decided to go out and buy a Princeton Review book on macro/micro. I finished micro in 3 days took the practice test and got a high 3 which i think is pretty good considering i had no textbook or nothing except those 70 someodd pages of review. An entire course in 3 days its wonderful. If I probably review the concepts once again and do a little bit more I think I could get a 4 on that exam and also expecting a 4 on macro. No not much math involved...hardly any its all theory anyway. If you just want to pass ie me....buy the PR book find a quiet place and go for it. If u want a 5 well......Ive never gotten a 5...u have to be godlike imo......I want at least one 5 this year......maybe I have to study REALLY hardcore instead of 2-3 hours a day (which im doing now).

Do you mean for this year or for next?

I think it should be very possible either way, but keep in mind that if you're planning to study it in the month before the AP exam, you will probably have to put in a rather considerable amount of time. There's a textbook written by a Harvard professor, Gregory Mankiw, that is very good. It shouldn't take you too long if you use that book. You shouldn't have any trouble with the math. If you can graph and calculate percent changes, you'll be in pretty good shape.

Do a little everyday and ur golden my friend.

I studied 75% of the material in one whole night.

any good online resources for cramming right before the ap exams for macro/micro?

If you're really interested in economics, don't cram in one or two nights. The AP exam is relatively easy, but it takes t least a few weeks to learn everything thoroughly.

Sorry i meant like concise review....i self studied micro took the practice test in PR and got like a high 3. If I want to get a 5, is there another online resource i could utilize in order to refresh my mind before the exam or to expand on concepts?

I believe PR is sufficient for at least a 4. Use barrons for extra prep.

alright thanks no missile. I would be happy with a 4.

YW, but a 5 is quite doable.

I just need to review more lol.....but first i must finish self studying comp gov...nothing like cram review weekend before :D
