Self Study for AP While in IB?

Hello. This fall, I will be a junior in high school. I live in Canada, and my school only offers IB. I will be doing the full IB diploma program. My courses for my junior and senior years are as follows:
HL Math, HL English, HL Biology
SL Chemistry. SL ITGS, SL Spanish

I am thinking about self studying for AP bio and chem because I will already be taking IB bio and chem during school. Has anyone ever self studied for AP exams while in the full IB program? Would you recommend this? I would really like to go to an American university, and it will be much more difficult to apply as an international applicant rather than an in-state applicant. This is why I am considering self-studying.

I am also really interested in economics and computer sciences. Should I self study for AP computer sci or AP macro or microeconomics? Or would this be too much work?

Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

So youre considering an american public school?

Wait, how would taking an AP Exam classify you as an in-state applicant when your grades/EC’s would all be international?

This is the definition of an “in-state applicant” from a NY institution:

A person whose domicile has been in the State of New York for a period of at least one year immediately preceding the time of registration for any period of attendance shall be a New York resident for the purpose of determining the tuition rate payable for such period. All other persons shall be presumed to be out-of-State residents for such purpose, unless domiciliary status is demonstrated in accordance with guidelines adopted by the Chancellor or designee. (8 NYCRR §302.1(a)(6)

In addition, most top institutions in America do consider IB exam results, so taking both exams would be a waste of time, effort and energy like retaking an SAT to raise a 770 to an 800.
