Self study for physics C while taking Physics 1?

Is it possible to self study and do well on the physics C exam while taking physics 1? If so how would one go about doing this?

Not unless you have a specific and necessary reason for this. Are you a Senior? Could you take AP Physics C next year? Are you just referring to Mechanics or also E&M? It is possible to self-study AP Physics C, but it is HIGHLY recommended to have taken a Physics course before. To self-study for any course, all you have to do is, well self-study the material, then talk to your guidance counselor about exam fees and testing information. Why not wait until the next year to builds your Physics skills? Are you doing this to impress colleges, build your Physics skills in college preparation, or just because you are interested in the course material?

It is nearly impossible, especially if you do not have a background in calculus. As well you will most likely not be able to teach yourself all of the concepts from both mechanics and E&M

Would not recommend! What is your reason for wanting to do this?

@physics223311 Definitely wouldn’t say impossible. If someone was currently in AP Physics 1 and AP Calc, passing C would be very possible. Doing well in AP physics C all depends on the student, how they utilize resources, time, and his or her devotion to the subject. The question of whether it is worth it or not is variable depending on differing circumstances, but self studying AP Phy C is not impossible.
