Self-Study for Physics SAT Subject test?

Going off my last thread, I'm thinking I might take Microeconomics (not completely sure yet, but probably going to happen). So if I do, it leaves me with the dilemma of taking a science SAT II test. I was wondering, is it possible to self-study for the Physics SAT Subject test and get a high score? I would be taking it in December, so I have the whole summer to study. I figure, if I'm not taking Physics, it might be good to show that I have some Physics knowledge (though it won't make up for it completely). My other option would be to take the Chemistry one, but the Chemistry course that I'm taking is not an Honors course, it's just a normal one. There's also Biology, but I don't really Biology and I took the course last year (it was an Honors course though).

I know I will be taking the physics Subject Test as well, but I’ll be taking it on the first test date possible in the fall. After taking one year of physics, it seems very doable to self-study (which I will be doing over the summer). There are only a few other topics I need to learn about, and I’ll pretty much know all I need to know.

It all comes down to which you feel more confident about. If you’ve take a chemistry course already, I would go with that one, since you’d have more formal training. If not, choose the one that interests you most, since you’ll be spending a lot of time learning about it.

AH, I never thought of it like that. Biology interests me the least, and Chemistry is alright because there’s a bit of math, though I don’t know if that’ll carry over into the SUbject Test. I guess I’ll look over the Physics topics on the Subject test, and see if they interest me more than Chemistry.

Thanks for your response

@PictureFrame‌ Also, I’m not sure whether this will help at all (nobody is really posting as of right now), but I started a thread about which books to get to prepare for SAT Physics. Feel free to check back every once in a while; maybe there will be something useful for you:

Oh hey, thanks. I’ll definitely keep checking back to see people’s recommendation on books (I actually didn’t know that Barron got some bad reviews for Physics).
