I have been taking Spanish since 2nd grade and am thinking about self studying for the AP Spanish exam. What books would I need or would someone recommend also how hard is it to get a 5. Would self studying be worth it because the class wouldn’t show up on my transcript?
Bump
If you have been speaking spanish for this long i think youd be fine not studying for it. AP is supposed to be the fifth year you take spanish and you are well above that.
Also only reason you should self study is if AP Spanish isn’t offered at your school and you enjoy spanish it wont look impressive to colleges.
Is taking the class not an option? Agreed that self studying will not impress colleges, although there are valid reasons to do it. However, if the school offers the class, you’d be better served just going that route.
My school does not offer the class, but would the credit serve me well if I could score high on the exam. Many kids at my school self study for AP exams infact one has studies for 10 exams and not even enrolled in any AP’s, although he did not score high on all of his exams *cough AP Chem *cough. He did score well on things like History and such. Would that not help his admissions? Is there an article to how the credit systems work, I am confused, where does the credit go? Like how to you redeem the credits.
