Self study or take class in school

There are a lot of courses out there that are very easy to self-study like Psychology, Environment science, Statistics, Econ, etc.
Is it better not to self-study them and get a better gpa by doing them in school or self-studying them?
What looks better on your transcript?

You need to give more details to your situation so we could give better advice or something substantial. Self-studying them will show on your application according to my counselor, but I would go with filling your schedule with those classes so long as it doesn’t block out any other potential classes that would add more rigor and relevance to your intended major. E.g. I would take Ap Psychology in place of some bland class such as Business. If you intend to leave a period blank/empty, then I would definitely fill it up with one of those classes. Also take into consideration the actual time those courses at your school would take up in terms of homework, projects, tests, etc. because it would vary from teacher to teacher.

Does taking the AP Psych. Eniviro, Econ, Stats lower your gpa?
If you can take the class and it doesn’t affect your GPA you should take it. idk about your specific situation, but usually taking the class allows you to learn more
