I have approximately 6 weeks (to the January test) to self-study ONE of the sciences - physics, chem, or biology for SAT II. I didn't take any science APs, but I did take classes in each of the sciences till 10th grade.

Which of the three would be my best option? I'm aiming for a full 800, or as close to it as possible. Thanks! :)

i took chemistry and i basically self-studied it. i am in AP chem right now, but we havent done alot of the stuff yet so i was teaching most of it to myself.

biology is probably the eziest to self study but because of the not-so-good curve, id prolly take something else. i know nothin about physics except that it has a very generous cruve.

Same with me pretty much, i self-studied acids and equilibrium. I suggest physics if you know some before, since it has a more generous curve. Chemistry has a harder curve but may be easier to study from scratch.

No problems! just pick one and start studying... no time to waste :)
I had not even come half-ways on my IB courses when I took these tests - chem, phys (with around 1 month of self-study) and getting 800 was quite easy. As long as you take time to understand the concepts.

I agree, you should pick one and stick to it. I had the same problem...I wasn't sure between Chem and Bio. I picked Chem but a month before the test I switched to Bio. While Bio was def. a better choice for me and I am so glad I switched, I did lose a lot of time by being indecisive

If you've taken biology before and are at least familiar with some concepts, just pick up a PR or SN review book and study away. Study for a few weeks and read the entire book, then take a few practice tests. After that, you're set.

SAT II Bio is extremely easy, so it should not be a problem to get above a 750.

i dont know i thot bio was hard to study. i studied it thinking i was very prepared but the questions are very random and the curve isn ot generous. got a 670 . but also i havent taken ap bio either..

It all depends on what your natural affinity is. I consider myself fairly good at Physics, and I studied rigorously for about 2 weeks before the test date, when I had learnt barely anything covered by the test besides kinematics. I ended up with a 780.
