Self Study

I have just decided to self study Human Geography. Anyone else who has self studied that topic or taken the actual class that would like to give me any tips or trick on the best ways to prepare for the AP exam would be great. Any other person who just has general self study tips as well would be great as well.

Also, anyone who has taken it before and is now in college, what class did you apply the credit to? Humanities?

Thanks

no point. No college credit at selective schools. Doesn’t help with app.

Don’t bother self-studying Human Geo. Most colleges don’t even give credits, so it’d be pretty pointless in that aspect,

^This is largely true to an extent. I only self studied it this year to get National AP Scholar with my friend. Turns out I didn’t need it but it was a backup in case I got a 3 on Calc or something.

I used Barron’s and Princeton Review; I guess you could still read them but the test is very specific in it’s questions and I had to make educated and logical guesses on about 80% of the test (still somehow got a 5). I would recommend you study and memorize models, comparing them and finding examples for them all.

Try to self study courses that will help your college credits. For example, I self studied for Psych and Stats and got a 4 on both. Those 4’s will help me a lot once I apply. Just a tip

Thank you for the help. Does anyone know about University Of Michigan and their policy with human geography? I looked it up and they said it counted as 3 credits in the geography department but I would also considered them as a ‘selective school’ . I am also doing it to get a AP award that requires 4 AP test. Is it worth it for that title plus the fact I will not need to study that much to get a good score? and to hawkace -how hard would it be to self study stats while taking Calculus BC at school?

Thanks!
