Self-Study?

form what i've read and heard, it seems to me that self-study is appreciated
but how can you verify it? i mean, i can say that i self studied calc bc in my 7th grade
will you believe me? probably not
how can i prove it to you?
and how do you check it?
thanks

(i didn't self study calc bc in my 7th grade, but i'm doing it now)

Did you take the AP exam that follows after study of the material? That would be a very straightforward way to demonstrate the results of your study, at least.

AP, SAT II, and CLEP exams are all convenient ways to document material you have mastered on your own.

I self studied a lot of classes and let MIT know about it.

They saw I wasn't lying through tests.

oh...i see....
i thought you can take ap test only after you took that class..
pardon my stupidity lol
thanks

what dud other people self-study n when?
i did physics c in ninth grade and psych in eleventh

i'm doing Physics B and Calc BC now (sophmore)

I self-studied Physics C and Spanish Language (God, those essays were hard)

baronwolfnstein: how exactly did you go about self studying for the language exam? it seems as though i will have to self study for french lang (our school only goes up to french 4 and doesn't offer ap). any advice for how to prepare? i have a fairly strong grasp of hte language but have no clue how to prepare for those essays without being in a class.
