I'm a freshmen and I'm thinking about self studying ap bio because I'm taking the class this year. Do you think this is a good idea and do ya'll think AP bio is hard to self study for?

Yeah, it's a good idea. If you can study the whole book by next year, you might be prepared to take the USABO test. Use Campbell & Reece's Biology (6th ed.) textbook. A lot of biology is memo work. La la la...

Why not just take the class? It's a lot of fun, the labs are awesome, you will learn a ton and be very well prepared for the test.

because I don't really like the idea of taking an AP class senior year that I would have taken as pre-ap freshmen year.

everyone at my school does that. in order to be in AP bio you are required to take ac/honors bio first.

i self-studied bio...just read an honors bio book, the ap bio book is too thick. and make sure you read PR before taking the ap test, it helped me to get the 5. :)
