Self Studying AP Calculus

I am currently a senior in a tiny high school. We don't offer AP Calc in my school so I decided that I would self-teach it. I've been doing work on my own, and I haven't run into too much trouble yet but the problem is nobody in my school can help me if I do. I was wondering if I was expecting too much out of myself if I try to take the AP Calc BC test instead of AB. Would it really be that much harder, and if it was would it really be worth it? I'm afraid that if I teach it to myself I might not get as much out of it as if I took it in college. I'm really bored all the time in school, but I also don't wanna knock myself out doing work that might not really benefit me in the long run. What are your opinions on this?

why ask so many? just do it, believe in yourself and do it. it needs strong algebra skills and if u took algebra 1 and 2 and pre calc , borrow a text book and do it.

i'm struggling in ap calc ab so much because i took alg 2 during the summer..so i think algebrra skills is very important..

lol My BC teacher had to teach me how to rationalize equations with square roots. Quite embarrassing. Algebra and trig are very important.

I think you should do the AB Calc and take either single or multivariable calculus in college depending on what mark you get for the exam. I am sure you can get help from people not in your school. If you can, you can purchase Stewart's Calculus book or get it free online or any Calculus books. Grab Peterson's... (I like Peterson's over others) and self study that way. If you can pull this a 4-5 it would be worth it.

People say they recycle free response questions so you have FRQ online already to look at.

Stewart's is 1 cent + shipping on amazon

PR is the best according to me

I had a horrible calc teacher so I had to self study as well.
I just used my txtbook (Calculus Early Transcendentals by Howard Anton Bivens...idk which edition) and just consulted my ex-math tutor whenever I didnt get anything

Got a 5 that way :D

thanks for the advice. squelchy what test did u take?
