Self Studying AP Chinese in 3-4 years?

Okay so, my brother, who is about to graduate college (in about a week actually!) has been taking Chinese for a couple years and is really passionate about it. When he comes home to visit from upstate I usually expect his gushing about his favorite subjects, such as Chinese and astronomy. We're both language nerds, so he'll be explaining the theory of the language such as the conceptual form of writing while I readily absorb it.

Anyways! I'll get to the point. Do I have a shot at making it to AP level by the end of senior year? I'm in the middle of my freshman year - my resources include: My brother, the internet, numerous Asian kids in my school, dual-enrollment courses over the summer at a community college, and of course the library.
It seems like a pretty ample foundation to draw my knowledge from, and I have a knack for languages (I pick up patterns fast).

Chinese is a very hard language to learn, but the AP Chinese Exam, from what I’ve seen, is fairly easy. If your parents will allow you, I would recommend that you spend a summer in China doing an immersion program. The best way to learn Chinese (or any language for that matter) is to go there.

You’ll probably need 4. I’ve learnt Chinese since Pre-School and the stuff tested is like 3/4th grade.

I took me 10 years living in China to become fluent and even then i’m not yet native level…its definitely possible, but you need to commit.
