self-studying AP Comparitive Gov.

I'm disputing over studying this class or not. I have a few question though...

1) Is it easy to self study?

2) How much work do I have to put into it? / When should i start studying?

3) Do I need a textbook? (If so, which?)

4) Is Ethel Woods the best review book?

Any other input would be great! THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I am also self studying this! I ordered the Ethel Woods book and then a textbook, I think it was by Kesselman but I can’t remember!

I am self-studying this as well, though I think I will stick solely to Ethel Woods book. Can I score a 5 by just using that book?

I shall be selfing this one too! And I had the same question about getting a text book.

So somebody please tell us =].

I got a 5 with Ethel Wood’s book and being a news junkie/extemper. If you follow current events and the news a lot, you should have an advantage, and can probably forgo a textbook for Wood’s book.

I crammed for a week before the exam, so if you start 1.5, 2 months out, you should be fine. You probably wouldn’t need to though.

Is it just pure memorization?

If you can define all of Ethel Wood’s vocab words pretty well (and there are a lot of them), you should be in good shape for the FRQs. I couldn’t say on the MC; a lot of it was just absorbed knowledge for me.
